Our Firm - founded in 2012

The firm was founded by Susan C. Gullotta and Michael T. Shilinski in 2012.

Prior to the founding of the firm Susan C. Gullotta worked for the firm of Wren and Maritneau as a legal secretary for many years and later put herself through law school at night (while raising four children).  Susan obtained her license to practice law in 1987 and continued on with Wren and Martineau for a couple of years with her practice being focused on real estate, estate planning and the probate and administration of estates. In 1990 she struck out on her own as a solo practitioner with a focus on real estate, estate planning and the probate and administration of estates and elder law.

Michael T. Shilinski began his legal career at the law firm of Bonnist & Cutro, LLP where he focused on civil litigation in state and federal court. His case load included commercial litigation on behalf of business clients and insurance carriers as well as employment cases.

In 2010, looking for a change, Michael too struck out on his own, initially continuing his litigation practice while also beginning to work with Susan in the transactional law arena. It did not take long for Michael to realize that he was much happier and helping more people by focusing on real estate, trusts and estates, and the probate and administration of estate.

Michael and Susan worked together for about a year before establishing the law firm of Gullotta & Shilinski in October of 2011. After more than a decade of practice together they have helped hundreds of clients and been active in the local community through their respective personal interests.

In 2024, after a long and successful career, Susan C. Gullotta decided it was time to retire and spend time with her family, including eight grandsons. While she continues to make sporadic appearances at the office to meet with old friends and clients, she has left the firm knowing it is the capable hands of her partner and son-in-law.
